Botanical Dyeing Workshop

Discover the hidden colours of winter as you explore the art of botanical dyeing using plants and natural materials gathered from the local landscape. We will look at what is natural colour and its history. Then we will make flower prints , bundle dye fabric and make a dye bath using local colour. If you are curious about natural colour then this workshop is a great start!

The workshop will take place at Woodend Neighbourhood House, 47 Forest St, Woodend . All materials provided .

$40 per person

Introduction to Natural Colour Short Course 4 Sessions

Discover the beauty of natural colour as you explore botanical dyes, inks and paints, and learn how to bring sustainable, plant based colour into your creative practice. We will be exploring colour from waste streams ,and up cycling material through natural dye techniques. Looking at traditional dyes such as madder and weld. How to make your own artist materials such as charcoal and ink. Finding pigments and ochre in the landscape. And if you have really caught the bug then how to create your own dye garden!

This is a four session course on 12th, 19th, 26th August and 2nd September 1-3pm at the Woodend Neighbourhood house, 47 Forest St, Woodend .

$160 per person with all materials included

Everlasting Wreath Workshop

Come and learn how to make a wreath from everlasting flowers and foliage. We will begin by foraging in our wood for a few ingredients and then add these to a selection of beautiful dried flowers and naturally dyed ribbons. There will be tea and refreshments including elderflower cordial for a summery vibe. You will take home your own wreath which will last you for a whole year!

You are welcome to bring a picnic lunch and sit amongst the flowers.

$100 per person

A small group of 8 participants.

Ink Making with Wattle and Charcoal

I am collaborating with Craig from Draw Plants Together with a workshop at my home in Macedon . We will be making ink from wattle and charcoal and exploring ecological approaches to drawing. Focusing on the beautiful wattles that are in bloom now. It is booked up already but do get in touch if you would be interested in this workshop as we are planning more!
